Netherlands-based Institute for Multi-Party Democracy (NIMD) delegation met BNP leaders on Thursday 23 Oct 2025.



Dhaka, Oct 23 - A visiting delegation from the Netherlands-based Institute for Multi-Party Democracy (NIMD) met BNP leaders on Thursday and discussed Bangladesh’s overall political situation and issues related to the national election.

The hour-long meeting, which began around 4 pm, was held at the BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office, said BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.

BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury led the three-member BNP delegation at the meeting.

Sayrul said the discussion focused on the upcoming parliamentary elections and the state of democracy in Bangladesh.

The NIMD team included Programme and Knowledge Advisor Taiwu Nenge, Head of Positioning Helin Schroen, and Senior Project Manager of AHEAD Bangladesh, Mohammad Sahil.

The other members of the BNP delegation included Joint Secretary General (International Affairs) Humayun Kabir and Organising Secretary Shama Obaed. - UNB
