Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has congratulated Sushila Karki on her appointment as the new Prime Minister of Nepal.
In a message on Friday, Professor Yunus said, “On behalf of the Government and the People of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I extend my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency on your appointment as Prime Minister of Nepal.”
He noted that Karki’s assumption of office at a critical time reflects the trust and confidence placed in her by the people of Nepal.
“As a longstanding friend and neighbour, we are confident that under your leadership Nepal and its resilient people will continue to progress on the path of peace, development and stability,” he said.
The Chief Adviser expressed eagerness to work closely with the new Prime Minister to further strengthen the deep-rooted ties of friendship, cooperation and mutual respect between the two nations.
He also conveyed condolences for the lives lost during recent political unrest in Nepal, expressing sympathy for the bereaved families and wishing a swift recovery for the injured.
Professor Yunus concluded by wishing Karki good health, success, and the people of Nepal lasting peace and prosperity.
