Bangladesh and Nepal on Monday discussed and exchanged views on bilateral issues of mutual interests in the existing areas, including business and trade, energy and power, stressing a robust engagement between the two countries.

The two sides also explored new avenues of collaboration in the field of agriculture and food security, textiles, cooperation in education and research between the two governments and private sectors, promoting tourism and people-to-people contact and increased engagement between academia and think tanks.

The issues were discussed when Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal Md Shafiqur Rahman called on Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal Dr Arzu Rana Deuba in the Foreign Ministry of Nepal.

Welcoming the new Ambassador to Nepal, the Foreign Minister expressed the hope for a robust engagement between the two countries in the coming days, according to the Bangladesh Embassy in Nepal.
