Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have exchanged heartfelt Eid-ul-Azha greetings, reflecting shared values of harmony, sacrifice, and unity between the two neighboring nations.

In a letter dated June 6, Prof Yunus expressed gratitude for PM Modi’s warm Eid message, saying, “I am confident that the spirit of mutual respect and understanding will continue to guide our nations to work together for the wellbeing of our peoples.”

Describing Eid-ul-Azha as a time of reflection and togetherness, Prof Yunus emphasized how the festival inspires communities across the world to unite in generosity and compassion. He warmly reciprocated the greetings, extending his best wishes to PM Modi and the people of India.

"I deeply appreciate your kind message and thoughtful wishes, which reflect the shared values between our countries," Prof Yunus wrote. "I wish you good health and happiness, and the people of India peace, progress, and prosperity."

The interim government shared both leaders' letters on its verified social media channels on Sunday.

Earlier, on June 4, PM Modi extended Eid greetings to Prof Yunus and the people of Bangladesh on behalf of the Indian government and its people.

In his message, Modi described Eid-ul-Azha as a celebration of sacrifice, compassion, and brotherhood—values vital for building a peaceful and inclusive world. He also conveyed his personal wishes for Prof Yunus's good health and well-being.

This warm exchange of messages highlights the enduring friendship and mutual respect between the people of Bangladesh and India, especially during significant cultural and religious celebrations.
