The hour-long meeting, which started at 11 a.m., took place at the BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office, according to BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan. Also present at the meeting were BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and Organising Secretary Shama Obaed.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Khosru highlighted that the discussions had covered a wide range of topics, including the political and economic situation in Bangladesh, as well as the country’s reform efforts and the forthcoming general elections.
He added that the EU expressed a strong interest in supporting Bangladesh’s electoral process, particularly in terms of strengthening institutional capacities and promoting reforms. The EU's commitment to aiding Bangladesh’s democratic processes was a key aspect of the talks.
The conversation also touched on broader bilateral issues, underscoring the EU's continued engagement with Bangladesh in fostering mutual cooperation and progress.
