At a media briefing earlier today, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mohammad Rafiqul Alam responded to the remarks made by India's foreign ministry on February 6, 2025. "Such comments on Bangladesh's internal matters are neither expected nor justified," Alam said.
He further pointed out that while Bangladesh has observed various domestic challenges in its neighboring country, it has refrained from commenting on India’s internal affairs, and expects the same respect from others.
Alam, who is also the Director General of the Public Diplomacy Wing, added that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, while residing in India, has made political statements that have not been well received by the Bangladeshi public.
He clarified that the interim government had already addressed the situation at Dhanmondi 32, which emerged on February 5, following one of Hasina’s remarks.
