Emphasising the importance of peace, stability, and security in the Middle East, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam on Tuesday expressed her hope for the success of the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran in Switzerland.

She conveyed Bangladesh’s expectation that the talks will contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region.

The issues of mutual interest were discussed when Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Bangladesh Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi met the state minister for foreign affairs.

The two sides also exchanged views on bilateral relations and recent regional developments, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reports UNB.
