Dutch envoy offers advanced tech support for Bangladesh agriculture

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to further strengthen the longstanding ties between Bangladesh and the Netherlands through expanded trade and investment, deeper cooperation in education and employment, and enhanced people-to-people engagement.

They exchanged views on a range of potential collaboration areas, including agriculture, maritime affairs, textiles, water management, and agro-processing. The Dutch delegation expressed keen interest in sharing the Netherlands’ advanced technology, innovation, and expertise to help modernise Bangladesh’s agricultural sector.

Discussions focused particularly on joint initiatives in agro-processing, food preservation, agricultural value addition, and the development of agro-based industries aimed at boosting productivity and market competitiveness.

The Dutch representatives also praised Bangladesh’s achievements in education, women’s empowerment, and the growing participation of women in political and social spheres. They commended the success of women footballers at grassroots-level Gold Cup tournaments, describing it as a positive example of female empowerment through sports.

Water management, river governance, climate resilience, and sustainable development also featured prominently in the talks. The Dutch side expressed its willingness to deepen cooperation with Bangladesh by drawing on the Netherlands’ extensive experience and technical expertise in these fields.
