SJF President Raju Lama to Join UN Global Governance Summit

Raju Lama, International President of the SAARC Journalist Forum (SJF), will participate in the 25th Session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) at the UN Headquarters in New York from 13–17 April 2026, marking a significant recognition of South Asian representation in global governance.

The CEPA session is a leading UN platform focused on global public administration, governance innovation, and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The annual gathering brings together distinguished experts, senior policymakers, and institutional leaders to shape international policy frameworks and governance standards.

Mr. Lama’s participation highlights the increasing role of independent journalism and cross-border media collaboration in strengthening democratic governance, transparency, and inclusive development worldwide. His presence ensures the voice of South Asian journalists is represented in a critical global policy dialogue at the United Nations.

Speaking ahead of the session, Mr. Lama said: "This platform is a vital opportunity to connect journalism with global policymaking. Independent media must actively promote accountability, sustainable development, and international cooperation."

The 25th CEPA session will focus on advancing effective governance systems, institutional resilience, and innovative public administration practices to support countries in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Mr. Lama’s involvement further strengthens the international profile of the SAARC Journalist Forum, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to engaging with global institutions at the highest level.
