Bangladesh on Wednesday welcomed the temporary ceasefire in the Middle East conflict, calling it a positive step towards reducing tensions in the region.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the truce offered an important opportunity for de-escalation and expressed hope that all sides would honour the ceasefire.

Dhaka also urged the parties involved to use the pause in hostilities to work towards a durable and sustainable solution that can help restore long-term peace and stability in the region.

Bangladesh appreciated the diplomatic efforts that helped bring about the ceasefire and reiterated its long-standing position that all disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.

The government stressed the importance of peaceful engagement and called for continued efforts to prevent further escalation.
