Man beaten to death in N’ganj

A man was beaten to death reportedly by some rivals at Sonachara in Bandar area of Narayanganj district early Monday.


The deceased was identified as Pervez, a mason by profession and son of Tara Mia of Siddhirganj area.

Khadiza Begum, wife of the deceased, alleged that a local Awami League leader called Pervez at his home on Sunday night.

Later, he along with his son Mahid and 5-6 people beat up Pervez with a hammer, iron rod after branding him as a thief, leaving him dead.

Liakat Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Bandar Police Station, said police recovered the body of Pervez early Monday and sent it to the local hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police could not arrest anyone as Meser Ali along with others managed to flee the scene, reports UNB.
