A 42-year-old man was hacked to death by miscreants in broad daylight in Char Jubli village of Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Subrata Chandra Das, son of Chiru Ranjan Das of the upazila.

Quoting witnesses, Shahin Mia, officer-in-charge of Char Jabbar Police Station, said a group of miscreants intercepted Subrata around 2 pm, when he was going to receive his wife from her workplace by a motorcycle in front of Paloan Bari on Parishkar Bazar road of the village.

At one stage, the miscreants stabbed him indiscriminately and ensure his death by slitting his throat, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent it to 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital morgue for autopsy, reports UNB.

Police suspected that miscreants might have killed him over previous enmity.
