The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,823 cases against motor vehicles for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.
A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and realized the money on Sunday (April 27) through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.
A total of 255 motor vehicles were dumped and 107 vehicles were wrecked due to poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.
"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement, reports BSS.
