A total of 390 individuals have been arrested in nationwide joint operations carried out by the Bangladesh Army between April 10 and 17. The weeklong crackdown, spearheaded by various infantry divisions and independent brigades, led to the recovery of illegal firearms, ammunition, narcotics, and other contraband items.

According to a statement posted on the verified Facebook page of the Bangladesh Army, those apprehended include listed terrorists, robbers, extortionists, fugitives, muggers, teen gang members, drug peddlers, and addicts.

During the raids, security personnel seized 10 illegal firearms, 46 rounds of ammunition, a range of drugs, locally crafted weapons, snatched mobile phones and laptops, foreign currency, and large amounts of cash.

After initial interrogations, all detainees were handed over to local police stations for further legal action.

In addition to the arrests, army personnel actively patrolled across the country during the Pahela Baishakh celebrations to bolster public security. Their presence was particularly notable in areas affected by incidents of vandalism and looting at commercial establishments.
