Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a smuggler with 18 gold bars at Baladghata on Boikari border in Satkhira .



Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a smuggler with 18 gold bars at Baladghata on Boikari border in Satkhira while smuggling those into India Sunday night.
Detainee Pachu Sarker (52), son of Durgacharan Sarker, is a resident of Baladghata village in Boikari union of Satkhira Sadar upazila.
BGB-33 Battalion Lt Col Md. Ashraful Haque confirmed the incident on Sunday (February 12) night.
Ashraful Haque said, “One person named Pachu Sarker was detained along with 18 gold bars by conducting an anti-smuggling operation in the Satkhira border area.”
The seized gold is worth around Tk 1.66 crore and weighed 2.10kgs, said the BGB official.
