Dhaka, 29 Dec — Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has expressed his gratitude towards the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for easing the NOC (No Objection Certificate) policy, allowing players to participate in overseas leagues.

Speaking to the reporters today, Taskin emphasized how participating in international leagues has helped players gain invaluable experience, both technically and mentally.

He highlighted the multi-dimensional environment created by foreign leagues, which feature diverse coaching staffs, players from various countries, and shared experiences that help players grow.

“When you play in an overseas league, you’re exposed to a completely different environment,” Taskin explained.

“You have access to different coaching panels, interact with players from various countries, and everyone shares their knowledge. This helps you improve your cricketing skills and broaden your perspective. I’m thankful to the BCB for making the process of obtaining NOCs easier. This will ultimately benefit the players,” he added.

In the past, Bangladesh players often faced challenges in securing NOCs due to the tight national schedule and the board’s restrictions. However, in recent months, the BCB has granted several players permission to play in foreign leagues.

Last year, the BCB did not allow leg-spinner Rishad Hossain to participate in the Big Bash League, as it clashed with the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

This year, however, the BCB gave the green light for Rishad to play the entire season of the Big Bash League, despite the ongoing BPL.

Similarly, Taskin and fellow pacer Mustafizur Rahman were permitted to play in the ILT20 in the UAE.

Taskin believes that these overseas opportunities will accelerate the development of Bangladeshi cricketers.

“The more you play in international leagues, the more you learn from being in dressing rooms with players from different cultures,” he said. “This exposure will help you grow as a cricketer,” he added.

He also discussed the pressure that comes with playing in foreign leagues. “When you play abroad as a foreign player, there’s always pressure. If you have a few bad performances, you could be dropped. But the more we play in these leagues, the more we’ll improve.”

Taskin also believes that the BCB's progressive approach towards granting NOCs will enhance the global value of Bangladeshi cricketers.

“If this continues, the value of Bangladeshi players will rise everywhere,” he added.

Taskin talked about Mustafizur Rahman, saying that the fellow pacer who got a whopping INR 9.20 crore from Kolkata Knight Riders to play in IPL, deserves such amount.

“I wouldn’t be surprised even if Mustafizur got 18 crores. He has already proved him in franchises leagues and also played well for several teams in IPL. So he deserves the price,” he said.

Taskin, meanwhile, joined his BPL franchise Dhaka Capitals today in Sylhet after returning from IL T20, where he took nine wickets from six matches. BSS
