NCL T20 to kick off tomorrow

Dhaka, 13 Sept -The second edition of the NCL T20 tournament is set to kick-start Sunday.

The tournament will be held in three venues-Rajshahi, Bogura and Sylhet-with the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium hosting the final on October 3.

The seven divisions of the country and Dhaka Metro will take part in the tournament for the coveted trophy.

Rajshahi will take on Dhaka Metro at Rajshahi Stadium while Sylhet will face off Rangpur at Bogura Stadium on September 14 to kick off the tournament.

Rajshahi and Bogura will host the tournament simultaneously until September 19 after which the remaining matches including the playoffs and final will take place at two venues of Sylhet-Outer Stadium and Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

The tournament was preserved only for the local players in a bid to help them hone their T20 skill. The first edition of the tournament, which was held in just once city in Sylhet, was a huge success to live up to what the BCB was craving for.

Rangpur eventually became champions of the inaugural edition, defeating Dhaka Metro by five wickets in the final at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

The trophy of the tournament was unveiled at the Bogra Stadium today. Sylhet captain Zakir Hasan, Dhaka Metropolis captain Mahidul Islam Ankon, Barishal's Salman Hossain Emon, and Rangpur skipper Akbar Ali were present during the programme.BSS
