Zimbabwe won the toss and chose to bat first in the second Test against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Monday, aiming to seal the series after their victory in the first Test in Sylhet.
Bangladesh, looking to bounce back and level the series, made three changes to their playing XI. Anamul Haque Bijoy and Nayeem Hasan return to the squad, while young pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib has been handed his maiden Test cap. Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Nahid Rana, and Khaled Ahmed make way.
Zimbabwe also made two changes, bringing in leg-spinner Vincent Masekesa—who is making his Test debut—and wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga. Victor Nyauchi and Nyasha Mayavo were left out of the playing XI.
Chattogram’s pitch has historically favoured spinners, and both teams have adjusted their line-ups accordingly, bolstering their spin attacks.
