Miraz shortlists for best sportsperson of the year

Dhaka, 7 April - National cricketer Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been shortlisted for best sportsperson of the year 2024 for the prestigious Kool-BSPA Sports Award 2024 alongside SAFF winning woman footballer Ritu Porna Chakma and archer Sagor Islam.

Miraz and Ritu Porna were also shortlisted in the popular choice award 2024 
alongside cricketer Nahid Rana.

The names of the winners of these two categories will be announced through a 
gala sports award ceremony which will be held on Friday (April 11) at a city 
hotel.

Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain and Managing Director 
(MD) of Square Toiletries Limited Anjan Chowdhury will present in the 
ceremony as the guests of honor.

This year, a total of 13 current and former athletes, organizers and 
association will be awarded in 15 categories in the sports award ceremony. 
The winners will also be awarded with cash prizes.

BSPA president Razwan-uz-zaman Rajib disclosed the names of the nominated 
persons at a press conference held at Bangladesh Olympic Association 
Auditorium today (Monday).

Square Toiletries Limited GM (marketing) Dr. Jesmin Zaman, BSPA general 
secretary Samon Hossain, player selection committee's chairman Parag Arman 
and member secretary Mahbub Sarkar were also present in the press conference.

Square Toiletries Limited, a well-known corporate organisation of the 
country, is going to sponsor this sports award event for the ninth time.
 
Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA), the oldest sports organisation of 
the country, introduced the first sports award in the country in 1964.BSS
