West Indies reached 128-2 in their second innings at lunch on Day 4 of the second and final cricket Test against Bangladesh today, extending their overall lead to 98 runs at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

Brandon King led the visitors' second-innings charge with a fluent 61 off 84 balls, hitting 10 fours and a six before Mehidy Hasan Miraz dismissed him, with captain Najmul Hossain Shanto taking the catch.

Joshua Da Silva contributed 36 off 70 balls before falling leg-before to Taijul Islam.

Kavem Hodge was unbeaten on 30 and Kevin Wickham on nought when the lunch break was taken.

Mehidy and Taijul shared the two wickets, with Mehidy particularly economical, conceding just 30 runs in 12 overs, including three maidens.

Earlier, Bangladesh had secured a crucial 30-run first-innings lead after being bowled out for 386, largely thanks to Towhid Hridoy's magnificent unbeaten 242.

Hridoy produced an epic innings, rescuing Bangladesh from a difficult position and taking the hosts to a commanding first-innings total after they had struggled against the West Indies bowling attack.

West Indies, who resumed their first-innings effort after being put into bat, were eventually dismissed for 356, with Hasan Mahmud spearheading the Bangladesh attack with superb bowling, claiming 6-90, reports BSS.
