A Dhaka court has fixed September 18 for submission of the investigation report of a case filed against former Chief Justice Surendra Kumar (SK) Sinha for abusing the power of his position and securing allotment of a government plot of land from Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha (Rajuk).

Judge Md Asaduzzaman of Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Court on Thursday passed the order as Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) could not submit the report today.

Earlier on October 10 of 2021, Deputy Director of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Gulshan Anwar Pradhan filed the case with the organization’s Integrated District Office, Dhaka-1 against former Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha for abusing the power of his position and securing the allotment of a plot of land from Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha (Rajuk).

SK Sinha, who presently lives abroad, also faces charges of accumulating wealth llegally.

According to the case statement, SK Sinha had earlier received a plot of land in his own name from RAJUK, in Uttara residential area. - Special Correspondent
