At least five members of the Islamic State group, including a cell leader, were killed in US strikes overnight in eastern Syria’s Deir Ezzor province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported Saturday.
Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said the IS cell, responsible for operating drones in the region, was targeted in the province’s western area.
The US military’s Central Command earlier stated that more than 70 targets across Syria had been struck in the operation.
