The Dhaka University authorities have unveiled the roadmap for the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections. According to the announcement, the election commission (EC) will be formed in the first week of May, following which the commission will release the election schedule.

While the roadmap sets the timeline for forming the election commission, it does not specify the exact date for the election or when the schedule will be made public.

The announcement was made in a media release issued by the university’s public relations department on Tuesday. The release highlighted the importance of the DUCSU elections, noting that the current university administration views the student body as a vital part of the campus environment, with students also showing keen interest in the elections.

The administration has been working collaboratively with various stakeholders since December 2024 to ensure the election process is fair and widely accepted. The roadmap aims to inform all parties about the steps being taken to organise the election in a free and transparent manner.

The release also mentioned that the amended constitution for DUCSU was finalised in December last year and was sent to student bodies for review. Six meetings were held regarding the constitution, which is now awaiting approval from the Dhaka University syndicate.

Additionally, in January, a "DUCSU Election Code of Conduct Review Committee" was established, having held seven meetings. The committee’s recommendations are also awaiting approval from the syndicate. As part of the preparations, the election commission will begin compiling a voter list in mid-May, with assistance from the university administration.
