Industry-Academia collaboration event at IU with 27 leading firms

Industry-Academia collaboration 2026 even at Islamic Univrersity, Kushtia held on Saturday.



‎Islamic University, Oct 03 -The authorities of Islamic University in Kushtia on Saturday organized a day long Industry and Academia collaboration program with 27 foremost industries to connect students with corporate employers and to create employment opportunities for them.

‎This program was held at the central auditorium of the university. Prof Dr Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, finance and planning advisor to the Prime MInister, attended the program as the chief guest, while IU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AKM Motinur Rahman chaired the program.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Amtaj Hossain and Treasurer Prof Dr Idrish Ali attended the program as special guests and Acting Registrar Prof Dr Atiqur Rahman delivered the welcome speech.

‎The Participating industries were IFAD group, Nestle Bangladesh PLC, PRAN-RFL group, Square Food and Beverage Ltd, Anwar Group of Industries, Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC, Betopia Group, Teletalk, Innovix IT Solutions, BenQ, Technodera, TP-Link Bangladesh, NCINGA.‎

‎The other industries included Modern Plywood Bivag , BAT Bangladesh PLC, Rajbari Jute Mills Ltd, Zillur & Associates, Grameenphone, Akij Resource (Concern of Akij Group), Matador, bKash, BRB, DBC News, Abu Khari Group, Walid Lift Ltd, Golden Jute Product, BRAC.

‎Speaking as chairperson of the event, IU VC Prof Dr AKM Motinur Rahman said this program would build a bridge between industries and academia.

‎'University is not only a center for certificates but also for creating knowledge, innovation and practical education that would help students to connect with potential employers,' he added.

‎He also told the representatives from industries that Islamic University is always ready to sign MoU with all participating industries. Your cordial cooperation would help us make more capable graduates.

‎'In this regard, IU is set to introduce a 3-credit new course related to industry education across all departments ,' he added.

‎Chief guest Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir said that Ziaur Rahman had made significant contributions in creating employment opportunities for the youth of Bangladesh, while Begum Khaleda Zia had made the greatest contribution especially in creating employment for women.

‎“Following their legacy, the present government is also working to create employment opportunities for young people,” he said.

‎He further said that a university’s identity depends largely on the extent of innovation it can generate. Along with innovations, developing skills and fostering a sense of citizenship are also among the key responsibilities of a university. - UNB
