
Technology (BUET) as the fourth Pro-Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university.
The appointment was announced today in a notification issued by the Ministry of Education.
He will succeed the incumbent Pro-VC Prof Dr Abdul Hasib Chowdhury.
He obtained his BSc in Civil Engineering with distinction from the Department of Civil Engineering at BUET in 1997.
In the same year, he began his academic career as a lecturer at the university.
He was promoted through different academic ranks and became a professor in 2013 and is currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at BUET.
He is also Director of the Research and Innovation Center for Science and Engineering (RISE).
For higher education, he studied at Saitama University in Japan. After earning his PhD from the university in 2002, he completed two years of postdoctoral research there, reports BSS.
