Educationalist Prof Ali Ahmed passes away

Renowned educationist of Manikganj district Prof Ali Ahmed passed away today at his residence in Dhaka due to old-age complications,


He was 98, family sources said.

In his long career, Prof Ali served as the Vice-Principal of Manikganj Government Devendra College. He was also the Founder Principal of Khan Bahadur Awlad Hossain Khan College here.

He left behind his only son retired Secretary of Ministry of Forest and Environment Ishtiaque Ahmed, three daughters and hundreds of students and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Prof Ali Ahmed was buried at his family graveyard at Matta under Manikganj Pourashava after the namaz-e-janaza held at Government Devendra College playground this evening.

Hundreds of his former students, colleagues and people from all walks of life took part in the Janaza, reports BSS.
