ICC Global Banking Commission Meeting to be held in Dhaka

Dhaka, Oct 19 – The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Banking Commission, Paris, has proposed to hold the ICC Global Banking Commission Meeting jointly with ICC Bangladesh in Dhaka during October–November 2027.

The proposal was formally accepted at the ICC Bangladesh Banking Commission Meeting held on October 12, 2025, according to a press release.

The ICC Global Banking Commission Meeting, which takes place annually by rotation in different countries, will be hosted in the United Kingdom in 2026 before coming to Bangladesh the following year.

The ICC Banking Commission has over 800 members across more than 60 countries, including representatives from ICC National Committees, multilateral development banks, regulators and public agencies, commercial banks and supply chain finance providers, corporates, fintech and technology firms, development finance institutions, law firms, and insurers.

At the recent ICC Bangladesh Banking Commission Meeting, members reviewed the Secretariat’s activities for 2025 and finalised the ICC Bangladesh Plan of Action for 2026.

The plan outlines a series of initiatives, including workshops for bankers, MSMEs and women entrepreneurs, as well as seminars, roundtables and policy dialogues.

The Commission also agreed to hold more frequent meetings to deliberate on key issues such as the impact of Bangladesh’s graduation from the LDC category on financial institutions, digitalisation of international trade, cybersecurity, and other emerging challenges facing the banking sector.
