A flight takes off at Dhaka Airport.

Dhaka, Jan 25- Mobile courts and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Uttara Traffic Division conducted a joint drive on Sunday and filed 94 cases to strictly enforce a Silent Zone around Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The drive was conducted on Sunday in and around the HSIA area to curb noise pollution and ensure environmental protection by enforcing the Noise Pollution Control Rules, 2025, said DMP’s Deputy Commissioner (Media) Talebur Rahman on Sunday evening.

During the operation, executive magistrates from the Department of Environment, BRTA, Civil Aviation Authority, City Corporation and DMP carried out five mobile court drives, filing 58 cases and realising Tk 20,200 in fines.

Besides, the DMP Traffic–Uttara Division conducted its own operation, filing 36 cases and collecting Tk 95,000 in fines.

Authorities said such coordinated drives will continue to ensure effective implementation of the Silent Zone in the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area. - UNB
