Travellers on the Israel-bound flight which reportedly saw one pilot stab another and attempt to crash the plane, have been detailing what happened.

The pilot who was stabbed mid-flight has been named by Israeli officials as Captain Smit Machchhar, an Indian national.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that despite being "seriously injured", he "opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker". He met passengers as they arrived in Tel Aviv from Saudi Arabia, where their plane made an emergency landing.

The man, named as Yaniv Hayun, also said he "pulled the controls [of the plane]", and that a pilot who was travelling on the flight then took over. The pilot who launched the attack has been arrested and is being questioned by Saudi authorities, Netanyahu has said. His motives remain unknown. – BBC briefing.
