Alliance Française de Dhaka is pleased to present Tribandhon, a group painting exhibition featuring the works of three emerging Bangladeshi artists - Md Fariaz Emran, Niharika Awhona Barsaat, and Surovi Akter. The exhibition will be inaugurated on 12 June 2026 at 6:00 pm at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka and will remain open to visitors until 17 June 2026, daily from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Bringing together three distinct artistic voices, Tribandhon explores themes of identity, memory, nature, human connection, and everyday life. While each artist approaches their subject matter through a unique visual language, their works collectively form a dialogue about observation, empathy, resilience, and transformation.

Niharika Awhona Barsaat invites viewers into poetic worlds where nature and personal experience intertwine. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting at Banaras Hindu University, India, with Mural as an optional specialization, Niharika develops visual narratives through recurring motifs of birds, trees, and feminine figures. Working primarily in acrylic and watercolor, she creates layered compositions in which nature is not merely a setting but an active participant in processes of healing, growth, and self-discovery. Her paintings encourage reflection on humanity’s relationship with the environment and the unseen forces that shape our lives.

Surovi Akter is a visual artist and graduate of the University of Development Alternative, where she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting. Her practice centres on one of the most expressive elements of the human face—the eye. Through meticulously rendered portraits created with red ballpoint pen and coloured pencil on brown paper, she explores emotion, perception, and human connection. Her works reveal a remarkable sensitivity to individual character and psychological depth. In an age saturated with fleeting images, Surovi’s portraits invite viewers to slow down, observe closely, and engage with the humanity reflected in each gaze.

Md Fariaz Emran draws inspiration from the streets of Dhaka, focusing particularly on the lives of rickshaw pullers and other often-overlooked figures of urban life. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting at Banaras Hindu University, India, with Mural as an optional specialization, he employs layered watercolor washes and figure-centred compositions to capture moments of quiet dignity, resilience, and introspection. His paintings highlight the individuals who contribute to the pulse of the city while remaining largely invisible in public narratives. Through these works, Fariaz encourages reflection on labour, identity, and social recognition.

Through diverse techniques and perspectives, Tribandhon offers audiences an opportunity to engage with three compelling artistic practices united by a shared sensitivity to the world around them. The exhibition celebrates the power of art to build connections between individuals, communities, and the environments they inhabit.
