According to officials at the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC), the 45th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) preliminary test, which is scheduled for March 10, may get postponed.
There is less than a month left for the exam, however, the Bangladesh Government Press has not yet confirmed to the BPSC when it will be able to print the question papers for the test.
As a result, the preliminary examination may be postponed, according to BPSC sources.
The sources said that a meeting was held with the Bangladesh Government Press on Sunday, but the authorities did not finalize the date and time of when they will be able to provide the examination papers.
The commission will decide when the exam can be conducted after signing the agreement, the sources added.
Even if the question paper is printed before March 10, the authorities are not sure whether the examination centres will be available that time, the sources added.
Besides, the medical admission exam is also scheduled to be held on that same day.
Therefore, it will be “difficult” to take the preliminary exam on March 10, the sources said.
Regarding the matter, BPSC Director Neyamat Ullah said: “Although it will be difficult to conduct the exam on the scheduled day, we will try our hardest to take the exam.”
“However, we have had a meeting with the press and no new decision has been taken yet,” he added.
Meanwhile, the news of the postponement of the exam has gone viral on social media.
The possible date is being discussed in various educational groups and pages.
