Police officer Kohonoor Mia dismissed by AL govt granted retrospective promotion.



Dhaka, Apr 12--The government has granted retrospective promotion to Md Kohinoor Mia, a police officer who was dismissed unfairly under the ousted Awami League regime, elevating him to the rank of Additional Deputy Inspector General (fourth grade).

A notification issued by the Home Ministry on Sunday announced the promotion.

According to the notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Tausif Ahmed on the President's orders, Md Kohinoor Mia, former Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has been promoted to the post.

The promotion has been made effective from April 7, 2015.

As per the notification, the promoted officer will be entitled to salary and allowance arrears in line with existing rules. - UNB
