4 of a family killed in Dinajpur road crash

Four members of a family were killed and four others injured as a bus collided with a battery-run three wheeler at Dashmile on Dinajpur-Panchagar highway on Saturday afternoon.


Two of the deceased were identified as Marjina,50 and her granddaughter,15, hailed from Kutur village in sadar upazila.

Identities of two others could not be known yet.

Kotwali police station inspector Maniruzzaman said when Marjina and some of her family members were going to Kantaji fair in the battery-run easy-bike a minibus collided with it around 2:30 pm, leaving three people dead on the spot.

Among the five injured victims, one died at Dinajpur Medical College Hospital and four others are undergoing treatment .

Police seized the bus but the bus driver and his assistant managed to flee.

Enraged over the deaths, local people put barricade on the highway, halting traffic movement, reports UNB.
