Road crash kills woman in Jhenaidah

A woman was killed and two others were injured in a collision between a passenger bus and an autorickshaw in Harinakundu upazila of Jhenaidah district on Sunday morning.


The deceased was identified as Sohagi Khatun, 46, wife of Ummad Ali from Shakharidah village under the same upazila.

Shahidul Islam Hawladar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Harinakundu Police Station said that the accident occurred around 8am when the Dhaka-bound bus rammed into the autorickshaw from the opposite direction in Kapashhatia village, leaving the woman dead on the spot and the duo injured.

The injured were sent to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital, he said, adding that the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, reports UNB. 

He, however, could not ascertain the identities of the injured immediately.
