One killed, 5 hurt in Ashulia septic tank blast

A man was killed and five others were injured in a septic tank explosion at a tin-shed house at Ashulia in Savar early Saturday.


The deceased was identified as Golam Rabbani, 50,  caretaker of the house owned by Rahmatullah in Bhadaiil Dakshinpara area.

Pranab Chowdhury, senior station officer of Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) Fire Service, said the explosion occurred around 2am on Friday night , lealving Rabbani dead on the spot.

Among the injured are Iman Ali, 45, Faria Begum Ratna, 45, Sonia Akter, 35, Ishrat Jahan Riya, 18, and a 7-year-old child named Rohan, reports UNB.

Of them, Iman Ali’s condition is stated to be critical, Pranab Chowdhury added.
