Police have recovered bodies of three labourers who died from electrocution inside a water tank of an under-construction building in the capital's Bashundhara residential area.

One of the labourers, Shahinul, 24, was rescued in a critical condition and sent to the Kurmitola General Hospital here.

The bodies of the three construction workers were recovered between 1 pm and 1.30 pm today after receiving information over a phone call in the 999 hotline number, Bhatara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rakibul Hasan told BSS.

He said they suspected that all of them died of electrocution when they entered the water tank to remove bamboo and poles used in the construction work in an under-construction house on plot No. 4 on road number 14 in 'E' block.

As police went to the spot, they found that three people were dead inside the water tank and one was in a sick condition.

The deceased have been identified as Faridul (40), Rabbi (17) and Liton (35).  They hailed from a village at Patgram of Lalmonirhat district.

The bodies of the three have been kept at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, reports BSS.
