Two Killed in Bus-Autorickshaw Collision in M'singh

Two people, including a woman, were killed and another person was injured in a tragic collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-run autorickshaw in Trishal upazila, Mymensingh, on Thursday night.


The accident occurred around 8:00 pm in the Birrampur area along the Trishal-Madhupur road, according to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monsur Ahmed of Trishal Police Station.

The deceased have been identified as Anufa Begum, 21, and a 22-year-old male, both passengers in the autorickshaw. They were residents of Gauripur upazila in Mymensingh.

The collision took place when a bus, traveling from Tarail in Kishoreganj to Dhaka via Balipara in Trishal, crashed into the autorickshaw, which was coming from the opposite direction. The incident occurred near Birrampur, located on the Trishal-Balipara regional road.

Locals rushed to the scene, rescuing the injured, including the autorickshaw driver, and transporting them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for treatment.

While the bus was seized with the help of nearby residents, the driver fled the scene and remains at large. Police are actively working to locate him, and legal proceedings are underway regarding the incident, the OC confirmed.
