Father, Daughter Among Three Killed in Bogura Road Accidents

Three people, including a father and daughter, were killed, and four others injured in separate road accidents in Bogura today.

The victims were identified as Shariful Islam (32), his daughter Sejda (3), and Alok Sarker (20) from Sherpur Upazila.

Locals reported that Shariful and his daughter were crossing the Dhaka-Bogura Highway near Mahipur Jamtala in Sherpur Upazila around 2:15 p.m. when a Dhaka-bound bus struck them while they were on a motorcycle. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital with severe injuries, both were declared dead by the attending doctor.

In another incident, Alok Sarker and his friends, Joyanta Sarker (20) and Shuvo Sarker (19), were traveling to a tourist spot by the Jamuna River in Sirajganj when they lost control of their motorcycle around 12:30 p.m. The bike collided with a tree near Jhumunia Bridge in Bishalpur Union, leaving all three severely injured. Alok was declared dead at the Sherpur Upazila Health Complex, while Joyanta was transferred to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College for better treatment. Shuvo remains in stable condition at the health complex.

Additionally, around the same time, a Dhaka-bound bus collided head-on with a private car in front of the Mahipur Fire Service on the highway. The impact severely damaged the front of the car, injuring its passengers, Md Likhon (28) and Md Jibon (30). Fire service personnel rescued them and transported them to the Upazila Health Complex.

Sherpur Highway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Khalek and Sherpur Police Station SI Rabiul Islam confirmed the accidents and stated that legal actions have been initiated.
