Two killed in Sylhet road crash

Two people were killed when a bus hit another bus parked on the roadside in Tajpur Bazar area under Osmaninagar upazila of the district this morning.

 
The deceased were Sohel, 30, driver of the parking bus and son of Tajul Islam of Shahi Pratap village in Sarsingdi Sadar upazila and helper Emon, 20. 
 
According to police, the ‘Yatyat’ Paribahan bus was parked on the eastern side of Tajpur Bazar when it was hit from behind by a speeding ‘Saint Martin Sauhardyo’ Paribahan bus. Both Sohel and Emon died on the spot.
 
Abu Taher Dewan, Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Highway Police Station, confirmed the incident, stating that the bodies of the deceased had been sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical Hospital for autopsy, reports BSS.
