Seven killed in truck-pickup crash in Sylhet

Seven construction workers, including a woman, were killed in a road accident in Sylhet early Sunday morning.

The crash occurred around 6:00am near Telibazar Bridge in the South Surma area along the Sylhet-Dhaka highway.

Police said the victims were travelling in a DI pickup van en route to Sunamganj for construction work when it collided head-on with an oncoming truck. All seven died on the spot.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (South) Md Riazul Kabir confirmed the fatalities.

Authorities said the bodies were recovered from the scene, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
