2 traders killed in Faridpur road crash

Two fruit traders were killed and 25 others injured when a bus plunged into a roadside ditch after being hit by a pickup van on the Faridpur–Barishal highway in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur district on Monday.


The deceased were identified as Jahangir Molla, 42, son of Seken Molla, and Alamgir Sheikh, 40, son of Neshar Uddin, from Koidubi Sadardi village in the Bhanga municipality area.

The accident occurred around 9:30 am at Bablatala when a Madaripur-bound ‘Shah Farid’ bus from Faridpur hit the muskmelon-laden pickup van and fell into a road side ditch, leaving two people dead on the spot and 25 others injured, said Sub-Inspector Md Mamun of Bhanga Highway Police Station, reports UNB.

The injured were taken to different hospitals.
